Omnivore Pressure Cooker Deer and Beef Stew 01/22/16

Pressure Cooker
Deer and Beef Stew 

Ingredients:
1 1/2 Pounds of Deer Straps or chops
(cut into bite size pieces)
1 Pound of Stew beef meat
(cut into bite size pieces)
6 to 8 Medium potatoes 
(cut into bite size pieces)
1 Pound bag of baby carrots whole
1 Large Onion cut into 2 " squares
(optional frozen Peas steamed and added later)
1 - 4 oz package of fresh mushrooms
(Do not wash mushrooms absorbs moister and loses taste) 
Pilled and cut into thick pieces 
2 - Small packages of Stew mix 
(I use essential from Shop and Save), 

Mix in 1 1/2 Quarts of Water whisk together
McCormick makes it's to expensive
Add Tbsp of olive oil to Pressure Cooker 
just a little to coat the bottom
Add Potatoes the meat, Carrots, 
Onions and Mushrooms
Add Water mixture do not over fill 
there should be a top off Liquid line in the pressure cooker
Put the Lid on make sure it locks in to place set the  .
Pressure release valve to closed Press the Meat button
for 45 Minutes 
If your pressure cooker is new it takes time for the Cooker to build up
the right amount of pressure before it will start counting down.
when its ready you will see it let off some steam
and start it's countdown 
When it reaches all zero's carefully release the Pressure release valve 
until steam stops All way's open the Pressure Cooker away from 
your body let stand a couple of minutes add your Peas to a large bowl
add all the ingredients from the pressure cooker except the liquid
to the large bowl with the peas.
take the liquid from pressure cooker put into a large pot on the stove on low
take Corn Starch mixed with 1 cup of  water  add mixture
 to the pot to thicken for gravy
to the thickness you prefer some people like thin gravy and others thick 
 I like thicker gravy myself
Add the pot of gravy to the large bowl of meat and vegetables
